Hussain Buhaliqah is the Chief Digital and Transformation Officer at Derayah Financial, where he leads the company’s efforts in modernizing technology and driving digital innovation. As a key leader, Hussain is responsible for overseeing the strategic direction of digital initiatives, enhancing customer experiences, and ensuring operational excellence across the organization. Functionally, Hussain oversee the following departments within Derayah: Technology, Strategy, Transformation, Cybersecurity, Digital and Data Management. He has extensive experience of more than 20 years in leading cross-functional teams, delivering on strategic initiatives, and has a deep understanding of the financial services industry.   

With a proven track record of spearheading technology and digital transformations, Hussain is renowned for setting up and expanding the first digital bank in GCC, KSA and Bahrain, along with a history of introducing cutting-edge services that became the standard for digital processes in the financial sector across the KSA and GCC, Recognized for devising strategic plans, controlling budgets, and managing resources to steer multimillion-dollar projects, encompassing digital transformation, new product development, IT infrastructure enhancement, Cybersecurity and IT risks, Business continuity, data analytics, data centers, AI and cloud services. His expertise lies in aligning technology with business strategy to foster growth and innovation.

Previously, Hussain was part of the founding team of Derayah, and he rejoined the company to continue contributing to its long-term vision. Hussain also worked at National Commercial Bank (NCB) as a developer and project manager early in his career. Hussain worked as well with Gulf International Bank for over 12 years leading multiple function and was the Group Chief Information Officer before Rejoining Derayah in 2024.

Hussain holds a Bachelor Degree in Computer Science from Applied Science University. He attended several management and leadership programs and graduated the executive leadership education program from London Business School.
